Datan’s legal background encompasses a wide range of estate planning, business planning and taxation law – both domestic and international. Datan has authored several tax-related articles which have been published in various legal journals. Datan has also conducted lectures on various international tax matters and estate planning. Datan has been awarded the prestigious 2009-2010 Tax Fellowship from the Tax Section of the Florida Bar and has been named a “Rising Star” in the legal field by SuperLawyer Magazine.

Daniel Bensimon was born in Montreal, Canada and grew up in Boca Raton, Florida. He graduated cum laude with a Bachelors of Science in Finance from Yeshiva University’s Sy Syms School of Business in New York City. During college, Daniel was a member of Yeshiva’s NCAA Division III men’s basketball team. Daniel went on to graduate from the University of Miami School of Law, where he was a Dean’s Merit Scholarship recipient and was President of the Jewish Comparative Law Society. Daniel subsequently earned his Master of Laws in Taxation, with a certification in International Tax, from the University of Miami School of Law.

Elysa R. Merlin is a partner at Dorot & Bensimon PL, focusing primarily in the field of international and domestic wealth planning. Her practice includes estate planning, pre-immigration, and expatriation planning for non-U.S. persons, and planning for foreign investment in U.S. real property. Elysa also focuses on international and domestic tax controversy, business planning, and charitable planning.

Dustin is a partner at Dorot & Bensimon PL. With a strong accounting background from his experience in the International Tax group at an accounting firm, Dustin adds a valuable perspective to addressing clients’ needs. His practice includes pre-immigration tax planning, structuring for foreign investment in U.S. real property, FATCA compliance for clients with U.S. filing obligations and planning for U.S. individuals making investing abroad.

After 20 years as a full-time law professor, Jerry Hesch became a practicing tax lawyer, and is currently an adjunct professor of law at the Florida International University Law School, and has taught courses in the past as an adjunct professor at the Vanderbilt University Law School, the University of Miami School of Law Graduate Program in Estate Planning and the On-Line LL.M. Programs at the University of San Francisco Law School and the Boston University School of Law.

Jerry Saresky is a Wills, Trusts, and Estates Attorney and dedicates his practice primarily to estate planning, trust administration, probate, and asset protection. Jerry recognizes that each client is unique and makes every effort to gain a deep understanding of their goals and needs. He appreciates the importance of working with other trusted advisors, CPAs, lawyers, financial advisors, and anyone else who our client believes can contribute to the plan design and implementation.

Jessica Guillen is the office manager and CFO at Dorot & Bensimon PL. Jessica is responsible for the day-to-day operation and management of the Aventura and Boca Raton offices, including financial management, billing, non-legal staff management, and client relations. Jessica is the heart and soul of the firm and has been a key element to the firm’s success.

Valeria Massa runs the firm’s Private Client Services. As part of the firm’s wide range of services, Dorot & Bensimon PL offers dedicated private client services to high-net-worth clientele. As part of her duties, Valeria handles all non-legal aspects of our private clients’ lives, including property management, bookkeeping and accounting, bill payment, business oversight and general tasks she may be called upon to do.

Osnat Dorot is of counsel in the Aventura office of Dorot & Bensimon. She focuses her practice on general commercial litigation, primarily representing corporate entities at all stages of litigation and appeals.
